Antiviral Drugs

Used specifically for the treatment and prevention of viral infections, there is a whole range of antiviral drugs available. Each antiviral drug is used to treat specific viruses. Unlike antibiotics (who destroy viruses) however, antiviral drugs only inhibit their development. Therefore, they're most effective when used to prevent an infection, or in the early stages of infection.
